ChristianSpiritual Warfare
How To Recognize Demonic Attacks in Thoughts Demons are waiting for an entry way into the mind. All Christians have natural tendencies for particular types of sin. Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit keeps the demonic attacks from going to deep level. For example, if there is an interruption of peace in my soul or the Holy Spirit gives a tightness in my spirit, I immediately begin to practice spiritual warfare. During a demonic attack, spiritual warfare might need to be practiced frequently through the day and night. I might have a spontaneous thoughts that gives me words like "inferiority, or "envy" or "gossip." If my current thoughts are in the consistent with the names of demons, I begin to cast the demon away from me. Not all thoughts are demonic in origin. Some thoughts that entertained by me are originated from the soul. I usually do not receive a name of a demon from the Holy Spirit. There is a conviction from the Holy Spirit, I confess the (dwelled on) thoughts and replace them with scriptures. My peace is re-established in the name of Jesus. Other Ways Demons Attack The Holy Spirit has never failed to show me how to maintain my deliverance for the past twenty years. My personal experience has been that demons can attack by gaining strength through "footholds" of weaknesses in my life. They attack through my mind using my emotions, past hurts and any weakness against me. I can sense that I am being attacked directly in the following ways:
If I am not watchful and feel sorry for myself, I can entertain these thoughts until the Holy Spirit puts a check in my spirit; then I know these thoughts are not mine and certainly not from God. Spiritual Warfare begins: Put on the helmet of salvation. I acknowledge that I have been saved by the blood of Jesus and no one shall snatch me out of His hand. Put on the Sword of the Spirit. I find that speaking the Word of God clears the demons out of my way. For every demonic lie, I counter with declarations from the Word of God. I speak these declarations aloud or think them if I am in a place I cannot speak.
These spoken declarations (only a few are listed above) begin to activate additional spiritual armor for battle with demons. The belt of truth is tight around my waist. The belt helps to hold me up when I am speaking my declarations. The breastplate of righteousness of Jesus Christ maintains my spiritual position of authority over demons. They cannot bring me down because I have the righteousness of Jesus Christ. The shield of faith begins to throw off all the lies and accusations thrown at me. I am stronger and more confident as I use all the spiritual armors given to me. The demons flee from me and I praise God.
Deliverance Maintenance Is a Life Style. The "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" strengthened spiritual warfare by intensifying my communication with God through the Holy Spirit. Praying in Tongues will give power to my prayer that the demons leave when attacked and will lessen the severity of demonic attacks. The prayers of anointed Christians that practice the spiritual gifts in church help to keep me strong. I attend church meetings where there are prophets that lay hands on me and offer prayers, and speak prophesy to me. I know the power of God. I have fallen to the floor under the power of God in a time of prayer offered for me. During these times, the Father gives me spiritual knowledge of His presence. If any demons are around me at this time, they flee long before the power of God on me.
"Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies--the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. So use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up. But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God's approval. Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrow aimed at you by Satan. And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit--which is the Word of God."
